BURN TIME + CARE TIPS

Our 150 oz candle, made with coconut soy wax and 4 cross wood wicks, is estimated to burn for 234 to 250+ hours or more. To achieve the best performance, we recommend burning the candle for 5-6 hours per session to allow a full melt pool to form. Burn time can vary depending on factors such as room temperature, air drafts, and how long the candle is burned in each session.

Tunneling occurs when a candle burns straight down, leaving a ring of unburned wax around the edges. To avoid this, ensure the candle burns long enough to melt the entire surface layer of wax during each session. For a large candle like yours, this could take 5-6 hours per burn.

The melt pool is the layer of liquid wax that forms around the wick during burning. A full melt pool helps ensure an even burn and maximizes the scent throw. For large candles like this, a full melt pool helps prevent tunneling and wasted wax.

The amount of wax left at the bottom after your candle finishes burning often depends on the length of the final burn session and the size of the last melt pool. In most cases, the wicks will burn down to the wick tab before all the wax has been fully consumed. This is because the wax nearest to the base of the jar may not fully liquefy, especially if the final burn wasn't long enough to form a complete melt pool. Additionally, for safety reasons, wicks are designed to self-extinguish before reaching the bottom of the container, preventing overheating.

To clean out the remaining wax from your vase, follow these steps:

  1. Freeze the Wax: Place the vase in the freezer for a few hours. This will harden and shrink the wax, making it easier to remove.
  2. Remove the Wax: After freezing, gently use a butter knife or spoon to loosen and pop the wax out of the vase. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to avoid damaging the vase.
  3. Clean the Vessel: Once the wax is removed, wash the inside of the vase with warm, soapy water. Avoid using harsh chemicals to preserve the integrity and finish of the glass.
  4. Repurpose the Vase: After cleaning, the vase can be repurposed as a decorative piece, a flower vase, or a storage container, offering a beautiful new life for your candle vessel.
