The Meaning Behind R. Rebellion
We often get asked about the inspiration behind our name, R. Rebellion. Where did it come from, what does it mean?
Our name is a reflection of our commitment to embracing the beauty and resilience of the wild rose. The "R" in our name stands for "rose," a flower that has long been associated with the rugged beauty of the Western landscape. The wild rose is a symbol of resilience and strength, growing unapologetically in its own unique way.
We are proud of our story, our mission, our legacy.
At R. Rebellion, our muse is the wild rose, with its unbridled beauty and daring spirit. It inspires us to embrace our inner rebel and the courage to stand up for what we believe in - to embrace our beauty and individuality.
Our collection of candles and fragrances reflects the rugged beauty of the West, with scents that evoke the wildness of the landscape and the spirit of adventure. From the sweet fragrance of the wild rose to the earthy aroma of sagebrush, our products are a celebration of the natural beauty of the world around us.
Welcome to the rebellion,
Dawn & Shana
WILD ROSES & REBELS
The enduring spirit of the west
Out on the rugged Western range, where the winds carry the scent of sagebrush and the sun beats down fiercely, there blooms a special kind of rose.
These wild roses grow alongside the dusty trails, and in the most inhospitable locations captivating even the most hardened cowboys and cowgirls with their delicate beauty.
As the seasons change, so too do the wild roses. In the springtime of their youth, they burst forth with promise and energy, radiating a youthful charm that draws the eye. They are delicate yet strong, a symbol of the enduring spirit of the West.
In the summer heat, the wild roses mature and grow wiser. Their petals deepen in color and texture, displaying a graceful elegance that comes only with experience. They face the harsh elements with resilience, a testament to the fortitude of the West.
As the leaves begin to turn and fall, the wild roses enter the autumn of their bloom. They begin to lose their petals, their vibrant energy fading into a quiet beauty that is no less captivating. Though more fragile, they retain their inner strength and wisdom, a symbol of a season fully lived.
Even in the winter, when the roses lay dormant, their spirit remains unbroken. Like a memory that lingers in the heart, the essence of the rose persists, inspiring and uplifting all those who have been touched by its beauty - waiting to blossom again!
The wild roses are like rebels, growing defiantly in their own unique way. They celebrate their individuality and refuse to conform to the expectations of others. They are a symbol of the power of standing up for oneself, even in the face of opposition.
Rebels refuse to be silenced or held back. They are bold and self-aware, unafraid to maintain their own unique perspective in a world that often demands conformity. They speak their truth with honesty and passion, celebrating what makes them special.
Together, wild roses and rebels represent the enduring spirit of the West. They celebrate the beauty of individuality and the strength to stand up for what one believes in, no matter the cost.

Letterpress Printing
Antique Platen Presses
Nestled on our building’s south side, our print shop is a blend of history and creativity, housing three antique Chandler & Price letterpresses: John (14.5” x 22”) from 1911, June (12” x 18”) from 1922, and Rose (7” x 11”) from 1904. Alongside these, an 1890 Geo Sanborn GEM guillotine paper cutter and a custom-built hot foil press from England underline our craftsmanship.
Nearly every piece of packaging, stationery, and greeting card is printed in-house, embodying our commitment to quality and the unique touch of handcrafted items. Our team designs, prints, and assembles all products in our Flagship, ensuring excellence and sustainability from concept to creation.

DOWNTOWN PENDLETON
OUR FLAGSHIP
R. Rebellion's flagship store resides in downtown Pendleton, Oregon, within the historic 1896 Medernach building—a testament to resilience and reinvention. Over its life, it has transitioned from a commerce hub to the 1908 Orpheum Theater, and even a secretive brothel.
This storied site has hosted a range of businesses, reflecting Pendleton’s evolving spirit, and once housed a speakeasy during Prohibition, now part of the Pendleton Underground Tours. Recently restored, the building now combines its rich heritage with modern functionality, hosting our retail store, letterpress shop, and production facilities—a symbol of embracing history while fostering innovation.
