Our candles are crafted with all natural coconut soy wax, reusable whiskey glasses, and premium Wood Cross wicks designed to create a soft crackling ambiance inspired by the warmth of an open fire. Proper candle care helps ensure the cleanest burn, best fragrance performance, and longest life of your candle.
Before Each Burn
Gently remove any loose charred wood from the previous burn and keep the wick trimmed short, approximately 1/8 inch. Wood wicks perform best when clean and properly maintained.
Because Wood Cross wicks are natural wood rather than cotton, they may require multiple lighting attempts, especially after the first burn. For best results, we recommend using a torch or utility lighter rather than matches. Apply the flame near the base of the wick closest to the wax surface until the flame draws evenly across the wood.
Achieving a Full Melt Pool
For best performance, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the whiskey glass during every burn, especially the first burn. Achieving a full melt pool edge to edge helps prevent tunneling and promotes a cleaner, more even burn throughout the life of the candle.
Most burn sessions should last approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on room temperature and environment.
Burn Environment
To help maintain a cleaner burn, avoid placing candles near open windows, fans, air vents, or drafts. Airflow can cause uneven burning, excessive flickering, and additional carbon buildup on the inside of the glass.
A small amount of carbon residue may naturally occur over time with wood wick candles due to the larger, more ambient flame created by Wood Cross wicks. This is a normal part of the burning process and does not affect candle performance.
When to Stop Burning
Discontinue use once approximately 1/4 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the whiskey glass.
Cleaning + Repurposing the Whiskey Glass
Once less than 1/4 inch of wax remains, allow the candle to cool completely before cleaning.
To remove remaining wax, either place the whiskey glass in the freezer to help release hardened wax easily, or carefully pour softened wax onto a paper towel and place it in the garbage. Never pour wax down the sink or drain.
Once emptied, gently remove the wick tabs and clean the whiskey glass with warm water and mild soap before repurposing for cocktails, coffee, or small floral arrangements.

FRAGRANCE DETAILS
Crafted to fill your home with warmth, atmosphere, and the spirit of the West.
How strong is the fragrance throw?
Our candles are designed to create a noticeable yet refined fragrance experience that fills a space without becoming overwhelming. Fragrance strength may vary slightly depending on room size, airflow, and scent profile.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use an all natural coconut soy wax blend selected for a cleaner burn, beautiful fragrance performance, and smooth finish. Paraffin free.
What is a cross wood wick?
Our candles feature premium Cross Wood wicks designed to create a soft crackling ambiance inspired by the warmth of an open fire while promoting an even burn experience. Made with American hardwoods. Our signature cross wood wicks bring a cozy crackle and beautiful flame to each and every burn.
Why is my wood wick difficult to relight?
Before each burn, gently remove any loose charred wood from the previous burn and keep the wick trimmed short, approximately 1/8 inch. Wood wicks perform best when clean and properly maintained.
Because Wood Cross wicks are natural wood rather than cotton, they may require a few lighting attempts, especially after the first burn. For best results, use a torch or utility lighter and apply the flame near the base of the wick closest to the wax surface until the flame draws evenly across the wood. Traditional matches may not generate enough consistent heat for an easy relight.
How long should I burn my candle?
For best performance, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the vessel during every burn, especially the first burn. Achieving a full melt pool edge to edge helps prevent tunneling and promotes a cleaner, more even burn throughout the life of the candle. Most burn sessions should last approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on room temperature and environment.
Why does my candle look uneven after burning?
Natural waxes may develop slight texture changes, frosting, or uneven surfaces as they cool. These are normal characteristics of handcrafted candles and do not affect performance.
Is the whiskey shot glass reusable?
Yes. Once finished, the whiskey shot glass can be cleaned and repurposed for cocktails, coffee, or small floral arrangements. Before cleaning, make sure all remaining wax has been removed by either placing the candle in the freezer to help release hardened wax easily, or carefully pouring softened wax onto a paper towel and placing it in the garbage. Never pour wax down the sink or drain.
Are your fragrances phthalate free?
Yes. Our fragrances are phthalate free and carefully selected for both quality and performance.
Where are your candles made?
Every candle is hand poured, labeled, and packaged in house in Pendleton, Oregon.
100% made in the American West.
How do I clean out the whiskey shot glass after use?
Once less than 1/4 inch of wax remains, discontinue burning the candle and allow it to cool completely. To remove remaining wax, either place the whiskey glass in the freezer to help release hardened wax easily, or carefully pour softened wax onto a paper towel and place it in the garbage. Never pour wax down the sink or drain. Once emptied, gently remove the wick tabs and clean the whiskey glass with warm water and mild soap before repurposing.
Why is there black residue on the glass?
A small amount of carbon buildup or dark residue on the inside of the whiskey glass may naturally occur over time with wood wick candles, especially if the wick is left too long or the candle is exposed to drafts, fans, or airflow. Because Wood Cross wicks create a larger, more ambient flame than traditional cotton wicks, occasional residue is a normal part of the burning process and does not affect the performance of the candle.
To help maintain a cleaner burn, gently remove loose charred wood before each lighting, keep the wick trimmed short, and avoid burning near open windows, vents, or fans. Any residue can typically be wiped away easily once the candle has cooled.
Can I send this as a gift?
Absolutely. Our candles are packaged to feel gift worthy from the moment they arrive.
